About the Newborn Screening Poster Awards
Every year at the APHL Newborn Screening Symposium, we are excited to recognize and honor the superb work of our poster presenters. During the 2026 APHL Newborn Screening Awards Ceremony, we will be recognizing the top three posters chosen by our Awards Selection Committee to have gone above-and-beyond in the organization and presentation of their poster and whose project/study is significant to the field of public health.
Before You Begin
To log into the review site, you will need to have an APHL online account. If you do not have an account, you can create one by clicking "Create Account" in the top right of this page. If you have questions related to your account or APHL’s NBS Awards Program, please contact Dara Slavin at dara.slavin@aphl.org.
Poster Review Considerations
- The portal will close on Wednesday, October 14 at 10:00 am CT/11:00am EST.
- All reviews must be submitted through the platform.
- You can revisit any incomplete fields at your convenience upon logging in to the review site, up until the deadline.
- Not all posters displayed at the symposium have been uploaded to platform.
- Reviewers will not be tasked with reviewing all of the posters submitted to the platform.
How to Review a Poster
- Create your APHL online account if you do not already have one.
- Click “User Login” to log into the application portal using your account email address and password.
- Following the directions for reviewing a poster.
- Save and submit the form. You will receive a confirmation pop up message if submitted correctly.
Decision Process
- Voting will take place on the platform.
- Additional information about how posters are being judged can be found on the NBSS Poster Development and Submissions FAQ.
Announcement of Poster Awards
- Recipients will be announced at the 2026 APHL Newborn Screening Awards Ceremony.
- Recipients will receive a certificate of achievement.
- Recipients will be notified in advance of the awards ceremony and will be asked to attend in-person to accept their certificate.
